My Tabla Journey : From First Beat to Professional Stage

By Pratham Marode | Indian Classical Tabla Player | Percussionist | Content Creator

Music is not just a hobby for me – it’s my soul, my identity, and my lifelong commitment. This is the story of how I started my tabla journey from humble beginnings and turned it into a life filled with music, learning, teaching, and inspiration.

I started my tabla learning journey in 2014, and since then, I have been learning and practicing tabla for the past 10 years.

In the beginning, I gave my first tabla exam with the help of SHRI NEMANE Sir and received my first certificate. At that time, my family was financially weak, but I still managed to complete my first exam.

I completed my basic education while continuing my tabla studies. I progressed through exams from 2nd to 6th level (Visharad Pratham) and completed my Visharad part-2 Visharad Degree under the guidance of my gurus — Shri Kamlakar Gathe Sir and Shri Siddhwan Tikar Guruji.

Back then, I didn’t have my own tabla and no fixed time to practice. That phase of my life was filled with struggles and challenges. But my gurus gave me motivation and support, which helped me grow to the next level and gain more tabla experience.

🎯 Progress and Achievements

Later, I purchased my own tabla set, which was a big step in my journey.I started my social media journey through platforms like Instagram and Facebook, where I created and shared tabla cover songs.I also began teaching by starting a small tabla class, where I have taught over 15 students.Over time, I received several awards and recognitions, such as:

  • Sahajyoga Meditation Award
  • Mauli Carnival Festival Award
  • Diwali Pahat 2022 (organized by Radio Silver City 89.6 FM)

🎧 Projects and Performances

I also did recording projects for the Taan Music Revolution on their official YouTube channel, where I performed tabla covers like:
"Aayat Tabla Cover"
"Hoto Se Chulo Tum – Official Tabla Cover"
❤ Support and Gratitude

This entire journey was possible only because of the support of my parents, especially my mummy and pappa, who stood by me through every phase.

My Journey Continues…

From struggling to buy a tabla to performing, teaching, and recording music, my journey has been full of ups and downs. But one thing remained constant – my love for tabla.

Today, I stand proud as a tabla artist, performer, teacher, and content creator. And this is just the beginning.
🙏 Thank You for Being a Part of My Journey

To all my gurus, students, family, friends, and followers – thank you for your love and support.
